  3. Click and drag here to make the Player Window wider or narrower. The height cannot be changed.

  5. Amplifier

  7. Amplifies the sound from 0 dB (default amplitude) to 6 dB (twice amplitude). Note that: (i) this may lead to clipping; and (ii) this feature is disabled for some compressed sounds. Use the Sound Control Panel for setting the hardware volume.

  11. Displays elapsed time in hours, minutes and seconds

  13. Progress Indicator

  15. Displays the progress of the current sound.  Move slider anywhere within the progress bar to skip to that portion of the sound.
